Nice summerday in good company

Mix Posted on 2014-07-23 23:37:26

Today me and Christina Huebert drove to the southest part of Funen, and went 75 minutes with a ferry to a small island south of Funen called Drejø.

Along with us we had Coffee, and Christina’s Loui (Theo/Gingerbell Olimpia) and Geo (Theo/Viva).
The ferry was a bit crowded, but the dogs behaved perfect…and charmed everyone who look at them 🙂
There were at least six other dogs with the ferry, and some of them were very afraid of the shaky floor, and a bit loud noise from the engine…or they were just uncomfortable with all people around.
Looking at our three dogs made me so happy and proud. They were taking the situation so cool!
Before we arrived at Drejø we had look on the map, and decided where to go, and first stop were not so far from the harbor.
After 15 minutes of walking…we came to a very tiny “centrum”, where they had a church and a diningplace, and as we were hungry, we stoped there and had a brunch, and the dogs could relax in the shadow.
After the brunch we started our little sightseeing 🙂

We past the church, and came down to the beach, and the dogs jumped into the water.
Loui is like a fish, and swim, swim and swim along the beach, while Geo and Coffee ran in and out the sea. After being at the beach for a while, Coffee also start to swim along the beach, and did not want to come out of the water….so in the end I had to put a leash on him, keeping him from the water. As he never had been into salty water that long before, I did not know how much salty water he had sunk, and how it would affect on his stomach…when we had the 75 minutes back on the ferry.smiley

So me and Coffee sat and watched the three fishes ….yes now Christina also had jumped in. 🙂

Can’t you see them swimming? Look after good…..they are there! :-))

The ferry left 16:15 from Drejø…..and the dogs were relaxed and sleepy after being out it the beautiful weather all afternoon, walking or swimming.

Coffee felt a sleep on the floor.

And Geo…on the chair….

Thank you Christina for a fantastic day! smiley

It’s a loooong time since I wrote about the youngest boy in the pack…Coffee…so it’s about time now.
Coffee has the sweetest mind he always has had, from day one I got him. I have actually never seen him get angry, not even once, at other dogs or people. He loves everybody and thinks that everybody are as sweet as him.
He is very social, and loves to cuddle with everybody if he can….but not when we are working. When we are working he is very nice focused on me, and he is in general very concentreited and a THINKING dog. He looooves to run fast…but thanks God he uses his brain!
When I got him, I had a lot of thinking before….because of Theo, Cash and Ziggy…thinking: what if this new pup will turn up side down in the very well working pack I had….what if it turns out the new is a beast…dominating and unfair….brrr, so yes I had a LOT of thinking before saying yes….
But I didn’t have to worry. Coffee has come into the pack very smooth, as he is a lover not a fighter! He treats the three other older dogs with deep respect. It’s really fantastic to see!
Four days from now he become 9 months old (23/7) and he is 52,5cm and 15kg.
More to come about Coffee (My Trusted Friend Loves Coffee)

To become 3rd winner among all those great handlers and dogs who were joining Dania Cup Final. It’s just WOW in my eyes!
René is such a great handler….and Cash…yes, she’s a very special dog!
Please have in mind that Cash lives with me, and not with René! That makes their 3rd prize to something xtra …doesn’t it?? I believe so!!!

World Championship in Agility

Agility Posted on 2014-07-14 15:22:50

I have four Border Collies. Cash, my 6 years old bitch has been active in agility since she turned 1 years old. Oh no…not with me, but with some friends.
Not because she need to be activated. My dogs has always had enough in their life…that’s my responsibility when I get a new member in my pack. If I don’t have time to activate them, I would never ever get another dog…or any dog! She is doing agility because I thought she would love it…and be good at it….and for sure I was right 🙂
She is with her 46,4cm and 12,8kg athletic and very, very agile, beside she has such a will to please.

The last 2 years, Cash has had a lot pf fun with René Jeppesen, where they have been training and competing in agility, and they have become really good! Cash is now both Danish Agility Champion, and Danish Jump Champion ( beside she is Danish Obedience Champion, and winner of the Danish Championship in Obedience 2010, and is a great sheepdog)

Last year they was selected for the Danish agility team….but as the WC was in South Africa, the team was instead sent to join European Open.

This year, René and Cash have been around all Denmark in the hunting of points to be selected for the Danish team, and the 22-06-2014 the selection was done…..and wow, they are selected for the Danish team 2014 and will run both individual and for the team, both to Nordic Championship AND the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in Agility 2014.

I am soooo proud, and happy for René and Cash’s selection. That is so WOW!!

Happy Birthday
